Brand-Specific Solutions

Mitsubishi: Kumo Cloud adapter ($200-400) adds Wi-Fi control to compatible indoor units. Fujitsu: FGLair adapter ($150-300). Daikin: Daikin One+ or online controller ($200-350). LG: ThinQ built-in on newer models. Samsung: SmartThings app built-in on newer models.

Voice Control

Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant are supported by most brand adapters. Apple HomeKit is supported by Mitsubishi Kumo Cloud and some Daikin models. Voice commands include: set temperature, turn on/off, change mode, and set fan speed. Requires the brand-specific Wi-Fi adapter.

Third-Party Alternatives

Universal IR blasters (Sensibo, Ambi Climate, Cielo) work with any mini-split that has a remote control. They are cheaper ($50-150) but offer fewer features than brand-specific solutions. They work with Alexa/Google but not HomeKit in most cases.

Safety Reminder

If you smell gas, suspect carbon monoxide or believe there is an immediate danger, leave the property and contact emergency services or the appropriate gas emergency authority. Do not remain inside — exit the building immediately and call for help from outside.
